Kinship Music Studios, founded by accomplished cellist and musician Katie Chambers, offers a harmonious blend of services, including events, concerts, private lessons and recording sessions.
Events: Katie has played solo (or with a trusted trio/quartet upon request) at fundraisers, religious ceremonies, holiday and cocktail parties, and various other events. She's also accompanied many wedding parties up and down the aisle - so far in over 200 ceremonies! While she loves to be a part of every knot-tying celebration she plays at, one of her favorites was on the Constellation, a historic yacht in Baltimore. This earned her a proud appearance on the television show "Who's Wedding is it Anyway" on the Style Network. Another proud moment - playing a ceremony accompanying Kool and the Gang. Katie offers a free consultation before the big event to go over wedding music options.
Concerts: While she calls Washington, D.C. home, Katie has played various stages all over the U.S, either solo, in string quartets, in musical theater and opera pits, as well accompanying nationally known musicians. She's graced the stages of the Strathmore, The National Gallery of Art, The Natural History Museum and The Kennedy Center. Currently, Katie is an ongoing cellist in the popular children's play "Wake Up, Brother Bear!" put on by the Imagination Stage. She recently played with critically acclaimed artists Matthew Hemmerlein, (at his "Hot Nickels" CD release party) and Victoria Vox, (at her "Exact Change" CD release party).
